Watch bonds and Ukraine as earnings season picks up

CNBC’s Jim Cramer on Thursday showed a preview of next week’s earnings and what investors should have on their radar to prepare for the tumultuous market ahead.

The “Mad Money” host said that bonds, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and Covid lockdowns in China are “the stories that matter with the Treasury running hard all over again.”

Cramer also saw a preview of next week’s earnings list. All earnings and revenue estimates are courtesy of FactSet.

Monday: Bank of america

  • Earnings announcement for the first quarter of 2022 at 6:45 ET; telephone conference at 8:30 ET
  • Expected EPS: 75 cents
  • Expected revenue: $ 23.13 billion

“We’re starting to see this giant assert itself as the world number one bank. I bet it will not disappoint,” Cramer said.

Tuesday: Halliburton, Johnson & Johnson, Travelers, Prologis, Netflix

Halliburton

  • Q1 2022 earnings announcement before the clock; telephone conference at 9.00 ET
  • Expected EPS: 34 cents
  • Expected revenue: $ 4.2 billion

Cramer said Halliburton is a great company, noting that it’s becoming one of Charitable Trust’s largest positions.

Johnson & Johnson

  • Earnings announcement for the first quarter of 2022 at 6:45 ET; telephone conference at 8:30 ET
  • Expected EPS: $ 2.59
  • Expected revenue: $ 23.64 billion

Cramer did not have much to say about Johnson & Johnson, simply saying that it is “concerned with breaking itself up to create more value.”

Traveler

  • Expected revenue: $ 8.03 billion

Travelers are “boring, but really good,” Cramer said.

Prologue

Cramer said Prologis is “a cacophony of greatness, all worthy of your trust.”

IBM

  • Expected EPS: $ 1.39
  • Expected revenue: $ 13.78 billion

“[CEO Arvind Krishna] separated the slower growing companies, kept the fast. It should be IBM’s time to shine when reporting after closing, “Cramer said.

Netflix

  • Expected EPS: $ 2.92
  • Expected revenue: $ 7.94 billion

The company needs to charge more of its customers and, according to Cramer, is not as brave as it used to be.

Wednesday: Procter & Gamble, Tesla, United Airlines

Procter & Gamble

Cramer said he “leans” on making the company the largest position in his charity if the price drops.

Tesla

Cramer’s bet that CEO Elon Musk will impress investors at the conference call.

United Airlines

Cramer said that if the company reports having a fantastic number of reservations, as Delta Air Lines did this week, it will show that the travel industry is doing well.

AT&T

“I’m not a big fan of this,” Cramer said.

“Copper is a great proxy for the Chinese economy, and Freeport will tell us where copper is going,” he said. said Cramer.

American Express

Cramer said he believes American Express is a “screaming purchase” in light of Delta’s bullish travel prospects.

“Will the Russians one day have a drop in oil production? I would bet Schlumberger can track what’s happening if they stop drilling,” he says. said Cramer.
