NASA’s orbiting Solar Dynamics Observatory captured another solar eruption from the same overactive sunspot that triggered radio shutdowns and breathtaking northern lights on Earth earlier this week.

The spacecraft that is watching the earth‘s parent star from 22,000 miles (36,000 kilometers) above the planet’s surface, captured the flare, classified as a medium-strength type M, Thursday (March 31) at. 14:35 EDT (1835 GMT).
