Thandiwe Newton’s husband today cut a lone figure as speculation grew that he and his wife have parted ways just days after she was allegedly fired from her lead role in Magic Mike 3.
A-list actress, 49, and film director Ol Parker, 52, reportedly parted ways after allegations that she had a heated argument with co-star Channing Tatum, amid growing concerns about her behavior.
Sir. Parker, who has three children with the Hollywood star, and who has written and directed the 2018 musical film ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again ‘remained alone in their £ 1.5 million home in London with the shutters down on every window, out of sync with neighboring houses enjoying the sunshine of Bank Holiday.
The filmmaker only ventured out to pick up a DHF package delivery and was schoolless, unshaven, and dressed in a gray T-shirt and jeans. He also had two rings in his left ear. Behind him in the front window so everyone could see, there was a neon-lit sign that said ‘Dream’.
Asked about reports of his marriage splitting, the 52-year-old said: ‘I do not want to say anything, thank you.’
He has been married to the BAFTA-winning actress since 1998. The couple share three children, Ripley, 21, Nico, 17, and Booker, eight.

Eight weeks ago, he finished directing his latest film ‘Ticket to Paradise’ starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts.
Sir. Parker, who has less than 5,000 Twitter followers compared to his wife’s 178,000, posted the message: ‘We just got hold of’ Ticket to Paradise ‘.
‘I was lucky again with an extraordinary cast and crew. Beautiful people and times x. ‘
Ms Newton is said to be on her way to rehab in Arizona, according to reports
Colleagues have become more and more concerned about the actress, 49, with sources describing her as ‘behaving strangely on the set’, ‘always raving and raving’ and being ‘very very excited’.
There are now allegations that she is on her way to rehab, according to Page Six, which reported a source who said: ‘Her apparent breakdown caused so much disruption that it became clear she could not play the role.
‘A lot is happening in her personal life, she and her husband have gone their separate ways. She seemed so stressed that she even took her two pet rabbits to her hotel for emotional support. ‘
In February, she came under fire for a “painful” and “patronizing” interview to promote the film God’s Country, in which she broke down in tears as she apologized to “darker-skinned actresses” for “taking on their roles.”
In the film, she plays a grieving black professor who confronts two white hunters on her property. But Thandiwe told Sky News that she was not considering taking the role due to concerns about ‘colorism’.
The actress started popping up and said she ‘wanted to apologize every day for darkening of the skin’. She said: ‘It has been very painful to have women who look like my mother feel that I do not represent them. which I take from them. Take their men, take their work, take their truth. I did not mean that. ”
Thandiwe, who returned to the African spelling of his name after previously going under ‘Thandie’, has been married to Ol Parker since 1998. The couple share three children, Ripley, 21, Nico, 17, and Booker, eight.
Ms Newton has been described as being ‘very demanding’ and behaved like an ‘absolute diva’ on the set of Magic Mike 3, according to a crew member.
“Everyone on the set found her challenging to work with,” they told The Sun. ‘She’s an absolute diva. I’ve seen her try the first assistant director, her costume girl. She is always furious and raving about something. ‘

Share? Thandiwe Newton is reportedly divorced from her husband Ol Parker and is probably on her way to rehabilitation according to a new report (the picture with Ol in 2018)
A spokeswoman claimed she walked away from the film – to be replaced by Selma Hayek – because she had to ‘deal with family matters’.
But it has been reported that her position became ‘untenable’ after she fell out with teammate Channing Tatum, 41, on the set in Paddington, west London.
It was claimed they had an ‘unbelievably vicious’ argument over Will Smith’s behavior at the Oscars when he beat comedian Chris Rock on stage.
An unnamed crew member said: ‘They fell over the debacle at the Oscars. I was on set … It was a tense exchange of words, but suddenly it escalated – Channing got into this car and he disappeared. ‘
However, this account of the events has not been confirmed by others.
An insider added that she fired her British agent for three decades when her American agent Gaby Morgerman flew in to try to help.
Gaby is considered one of the most powerful women in Hollywood and represents stars including Matthew McConaughey and Minnie Driver during her thirty-year career at powerhouse agency William Morris.
Ms Newton has reportedly fired her British team at the London-based agency Independent Talent Group in recent weeks.
The insider said of her next move: ‘Thandiwe’s team wants her to go to mental health rehabilitation.
She was supposed to leave immediately for an institution, they tried to get a Malibu detox, but they could not take her. Arrangements are now being made to go to a facility in Arizona if she agrees to go. ‘
Thandiwe with Channing Tatum on the set of Magic Mike 3 in London
EXCLUSIVE: Channing (pictured with his girlfriend Zoe Kravitz) is seen for the first time since his co-star Thandiwe left Magic Mike 3 after allegations of an ‘on-set bust-up’
A spokesman for Warner Bros. Pictures said: ‘Thandiwe Newton has made the difficult decision to step down from the production of Warner Bros. Pictures ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance To Take Care Of Family Matters.’
The statement came after insiders told The Sun that Thandiwe was planning to sue studio directors at Warner Bros. for the incident.
The argument allegedly took place on the spot in Paddington.
A source said: ‘Channing Tatum is producer and number one on the set. Thandiwe Newton is star number two. But 11 days into the filming, and it’s all over.
“They fell over the debacle at the Oscars. I was on the set. I looked at her and looked at him. They were in and out of the house where we were filming with this confrontation.
‘After the brawl he just said,’ I’m not working with her anymore ‘. When he’s a producer, it’s his movie, so she’s away from the movie. ‘
From a Cornwall upbringing to a Hollywood star: Thandiwe’s 30-year career and 24-year marriage
Newton was born in London and grew up in Penzance, Cornwall, where her parents – her father is white British, her mother black, from Zimbabwe – sent her to a Catholic school.
She said of her school years: ‘I was aware that I did not fit. I was the black, atheist kid in the all-white, Catholic school run by nuns.
She went on to study at Cambridge University, where she studied anthropology.
Her screen career began as a teenager with the 1991 film Flirting that marked her debut.
As a mere 22-year-old, she starred in the blockbuster film Interview With A Vampire, opposite To Cruise and Brad Pitt. She was later reunited with Cruise in the 2000 film Mission Impossible 2.
Newton’s early acting years were marked by sexual abuse. When she was 16, she was groomed by director John Duigan, who was 39 years old at the time.
Duigan’s abuse lasted five years, two of which were described as a ‘relationship’ after he sought Newton’s parents’ blessing that she could be his girlfriend when she was 18.
Two years after meeting Duigan, at the age of 18, another director asked the actress to touch herself intimately during an audition. Newton committed as there was also a female casting instructor present.
But years later, she discovered the unnamed man had kept her tape and played it at poker games for other Hollywood elites.
After the offensive discovery, Thandiwe began fighting the abuse and calling it out – an act that cost the actress many jobs.
In parallel with her film career, she has had many years of roles in e.g. ER and her starring role in Westworld.
She met her husband Ol in 1997 and said it was love at first sight.
At the time, Ol was a screenwriter and had written In Your Dreams, which featured the actress.
“He was on the set every day and I fell wildly in love with him,” she told InStyle Magazine.
‘When I met Ol, I was dating a really sweet, nice man and I had to leave him right away, even though I was not even going out with Ol’.
“But as soon as I met Ol, it cut off like any other blood vessel to other places.”
She married Ol in 1998. The couple share three children: Ripley at 21, Nico at 17 and Booker at eight.
The actress was previously credited as Thandie Newton before returning to the original spelling of her name three decades after it was misspelled in her first film.
She revealed that Thandie was a careless spelling mistake in the credits of her first film – the 1991 Australian film Flirting, starring Nicole Kidman and Noah Taylor – and it has stuck ever since.
‘That is my name. It’s always been my name. I’m taking back what’s mine, she told British Vogue in April 2021.
