Johnny Depp trial – live: Amber Heard had no marks on her face after alleged incident in 2016, says artist neighbor

Watch live as witnesses testify in Johnny Depp’s defamation case against Amber Heard

Johnny Depp’s multimillion-dollar defamation suit against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, continues in Virginia. The court has heard testimony from the actor’s sister Christi Dembrowski, who also served in part as his business manager, and his artist friend and neighbor Isaac Baruch.

Depp claims an article from 2018 written by Heard in Washington Post – where she talked about domestic violence against women – suggested that Depp, her ex-husband, was an addict.

Although the 35-year-old did not name the actor, Depp’s lawyers say Heard’s allegations have made it difficult for the 58-year-old to get roles he previously did.

Depp is known for appearing in films such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Sweeney Todd and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Heard has appeared in titles including Aquaman and Drive angry.

He is asking for $ 50 million (£ 38.2 million) in compensation during the trial in Fairfax County District Court. Heard, meanwhile, has filed a defamation suit against Depp, from whom she was divorced in 2017, for nuisance.

Depp has previously lost a lawsuit in the UK against the British newspaperThe sun regarding the allegations in Heard’s 2018 article.

After a short break in the middle of the afternoon, Mr Patterson’s testimony resumes in a much more empty courtroom than during Mr Baruch’s previous testimony.

Security video shows police arriving at the building on May 21, 2013 in response to a 911 call. Heard declined to file a police report that night. Both officers are expected to testify.

One of the many clips Patterson is asked to identify shows Depp in the building’s elevator on May 21, 2016, the day after his mother died, and the day his lawyers told Heard he would end the marriage.

Mr. Patterson testified that he saw Heard several times in the building in 2016, but never interacted with Depp.

In footage of Depp in the building, Patterson says he would describe the actor as being “animated” and not angry.

Mr. Patterson has already been ousted and is also appearing in a pre-recorded video for the jury.

ICYMI: Johnny Depp responds to allegations that he sexually assaulted Amber Heard with a liquor bottle

Johnny Depp responds to the allegation that he assaulted Amber Heard with a bottle

Amber Heard’s lawyer Elaine Bredehoft claimed that Johnny Depp had sexually assaulted her with a liquor bottle, in accusations made on day one of Depp’s multi-million dollar defamation case against Heard. Depp is suing Heard, whom he was once married to, for an article she wrote in 2018, which meant he abused her during their relationship. “Some pretty terrible things happened to [Heard]… he tears off her nightgown, he makes her squeeze up against a bar … he penetrates her with a liquor bottle, ”said Bredehoft. Heard’s lawyer Elaine Bredehoft asks Baruch about Depp’s relationship with his former partner, singer Vanessa Paradis.

She then asks about text messages and Depp’s use of the word “c ***”.

“He calls me ac ***,” Baruch replies.

When he asks Baruch to go through a text message conversation, Bredehoft then asks, “Do you remember Mr. Depp ever telling you that he hoped Amber’s rotting corpse was rotting in the trunk of a Honda Civic?”

“Yes, I see it here. So obviously it was written,” he replies.

In the lyrics, Depp says he thinks Heard is ruining the life they had and he can not bear to look at the building they all lived in and then decided to sell the apartments.
