Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee are celebrating their 26th wedding anniversary

Congratulations are in place for Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness.

The Australian actor, 53, wrote a billowing tribute to his wife, 66, on Monday as they celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary together.

He also marked the milestone by sharing a beloved Instagram selfie of the couple posing on a beach.

“Today I’m celebrating 26 years of marriage to my extraordinary wife,” Hugh began as he shared the tribute to Instagram.

‘Every single day is filled with so much laughter, joy and backgammon !!!! Deb you light up my life. I love you with all my heart! ‘

Hugh and Deborra-Lee were married on April 11, 1996, just one year in a row.

The couple met on the set of the Australian drama Corelli, where Hugh said he knew he would spend the rest of his life with Deborra-Lee after just two weeks.

They have two adopted children: Oscar Maximilian Jackman, 21, and Ava Eliot Jackman, 16.

Hugh has previously told People that the secret behind their happy marriage was’ giving time to each other and ‘always learning’ from each other.

The Logan star said they deliberately ‘reset’ their marriage, meaning they are not growing apart as many longtime couples do.

“We’re always learning and people are changing, so you have to do what you have to reset all the time,” he said.

‘I’m always excited about how funny she is, how amazing she is, and how smart she is. The longer it lasts, the better. ‘

The Greatest Showman actor told NBC’s Today show last year that their marriage ‘does not feel like work’.

He said, ‘People often say, “Oh my God, marriage is so much work.” There are some things you have to live by, but that’s not how it feels.

“It’s been one of the best things of my life,” the X-Men star added.

‘Deb is the lightest, most optimistic person I have ever met in my life. Like, if you ever want to play who’s the happiest person in the room, Deb wins, “he said.
